About the Program Director
Mike Ruybalid returns as the KKOM program director.  For six years, Mike served at Redwood Christian Schools in Castro Valley, where he taught choral, instrumental and classroom music to all ages, grades Kindergarten through 12th grade.  Mike is a graduate of Point Loma Nazarene University (B.A., Music Education) and San José State University (Single Subject Teaching Credential).  This year Mike continues his studies towards a master’s degree in Music Education with a Kodály emphasis at Holy Names University.

At VCC, he plays in the handbell choir, sings in the choir and on the worship team. “Zoltan Kodály, Hungarian musicologist, was quoted as saying that, for a child’s music education, ‘only the best is good enough.’  I believe the Lord has lead me to this position to help provide His children with the very best in arts education here at VCC, so that they can, in turn, give their very best offering of worship and praise back to Him.  I look forward to what the Lord has in store for this program in the time ahead.”
